Scripture: 2 Kings 25: 12 But the commander left behind some of the poorest people of the land to work the vineyards and fields.
Observation: This happens even in this day. The best and brightest are given every opportunity and the lowly and poorest are left behind.
Application: My example is canidates for ministry. Some are picked out to be on the fast track and hurried along in their education and the process. Special permission is given to override the system and move ahead very quickly for many reasons, which are not always clear.
I am just not sure that it is a good thing to rush folks along who God has called into ministry and service. I think it causes early "burn-out" and mistaken info about where and when God's will is accomplished. At the same, time I believe some of the best and brightest who don't fit the mold are left to run the gambet and hope and pray that the powers that be accept their abilities and dedication to the call.
These folks are not necessarily the poorest and only able to do menial labor, but folks who don't fit the mold, what ever that mold is..
Prayer: I pray that the powers that be see the error of their ways and are able to begin letting the system do its work so that no one is left behind. Lord, thank you for giving me the ability to think and reason even though I not good at it. Thanks for loving me anyway, Stephen
Yieldedness: When I given an opportunity to be a mentor I will not rush the process.
